NTI 2014: Learning, Networking, Great Times in the Mile High City
May 14, 2014  |

Aliso Viejo, CA - The American Association of Critical-Care Nurses’ (AACN’s) National Teaching Institute & Critical Care Exposition (NTI) is the premier conference for high acuity and critical care nurses. This year marks the 41st time nurses from across the country will gather for AACN’s national conference, Saturday, May 17, through Thursday, May 22, in Denver.

With up to 35 hours of continuing nursing education (CNE) contact hours available, NTI offers incredible value and a vast choice of educational opportunities through more than 300 sessions and 400 exhibitors at the Critical Care Exposition, the largest trade show of its kind for critical care nurses.

As one of the main airport hubs for the western United States, Denver is a convenient place to visit for the week or a few days.

Here are some of this year’s highlights:

  • NTI Summit – Moral Distress Isn’t Going Away: Confronting Reality. A half-day summit Wednesday, May 21, featuring moderated conversations with experts and learners confronting the unavoidable reality that moral distress is part of clinical life. Participants will explore how to handle it in familiar situations such as bullying, workarounds and disasters.
  • Advanced Practice Institute. Build skills and broaden your knowledge at AACN’s Advanced Practice Institute (API), a parallel educational program alongside NTI. Developed by nationally recognized advanced practice professionals, API offers up to 35 CNEs, including up to 20 pharmacology CNEs.
  • More ways to connect. Robust social networking and scheduling makes it easy for attendees to plan and personalize their NTI 2014 experience online and on-site and to meet colleagues with similar interests and backgrounds.
  • Nurses’ Night Off. This event promises both fun and education, as attendees will enjoy the facilities and exhibits of two great attractions — the Denver Zoo and the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. Attendees can relax, have fun and network while dividing their time between the neighboring venues.

NTI’s popular preconferences offer opportunities for hands-on experiential learning with three- and six-hour sessions providing deeper coverage on topics relevant to practice. Favorites such as Procedural Cadaver Lab, Suturing 101, Cardiac Surgery Advanced Life Support and Mastering How to Influence Change return this year. Continue>
